My skin care routine is basically cleanse, tone, and moisturize, but lately, I've been getting a lot of pimples on my cheeks and I seriously can't control it anymore. Besides, the amount of oil you can get from my face can probably cook sunny side up. I know I'm exaggerating, but it's really too much and it's stressing the fuck out of me. My skin care products are not doing its job well for the past months, so I decided to slowly ditch them and try something new. Which is why I sorta decided to be a little more serious with my morning and bedtime routine. I've watched vlogs by beauty gurus and read product reviews to know which one to buy.

I found this toner through a beauty v/blogger who has the same skin type as mine, and basically this product helped her a lot. I know not all skin types are the same and not all products would have the same effect either, but I gotta risk it. I'm quite tired of putting face powder every now and then, and my eye glasses are sliding down my nose all the time because of oiliness!

I've read a couple of reviews about it and I was pretty much sold.

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel claims to be pore perfecting toner, fragrance free (meeeh), gentle skincare, gently cleanses + conditions pores to maintain clear, smooth & balanced skin without overdrying. Let's see?

I love that it comes in 2 sizes, travel size (59mL) and a large one (473mL). The travel size is the one I purchased (for trial only) and it became my holy grail. It's perfect for girls who are always on the go and does her beauty routine in the car or in the office like me. You can just refill it if you have the bigger one.

All Natural Witch Hazel, containing Natural Grain Alcohol 14% and Witch Hazel Extract

What is Witch Hazel? So I did a little research, because initially I have no freaking idea what that is... Basically, it's an astringent compound produced from the leaves and bark of witch hazel shrub used as a cooling agent in traditional medicine. They say that Native Americans are the ones who discovered this alternative medicine to treat skin diseases or such.

Fragrance free? Nope. No. No.
I don't like the smell. I don't like it at all. It's disgusting! Every time I put it on my face, I scrunch my nose, but I still use it anyway since it does its job! Maybe because they use all natural ingredients and putting fragrance would have an effect or whatsoever. I really don't know.

(Based on the packaging)
You should use it daily after cleansing or before applying skin treatments. Moisten a cotton ball or pad and apply to face and neck. For best results, use in the morning and at night for naturally soft & beautiful skin.

It's basically how you use your typical toner.

You can buy it at any Healthy Options branches in the Face section.

It's a bit pricey for a 59mL product at 85.00, but if you love the effects it's definitely worth an investment.

I love the effects of this on my skin! First time I used it, my face produced less oil. I intentionally did not put any make up for the whole day so I would see how my skin goes, and surprisingly, it produced less oil. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and my face is now a combination of oily and dry. I don't know if it's a good thing or what. Though, it felt like my skin is smoother and less tight.

I believe in its power to cleanse and to balance skin, but as for conditioning my pores, and lightening my pimple scars, I'm not quite sure about that since I'm also using a clay mask once a week.

Would I recommend this product? Yes, definitely! But always make sure to put oil/serum/moisturizer after.
